this new photography exhibition captures the secret underground of 1930s paris
Travel back in time to 1930s Paris, where avant-garde parties happened in secret and Surrealism reigned supreme. Heide Museum of Modern Art’s newest exhibition is a portal to the hidden backstreets and gatherings of the City of Light, thanks to the lens of prolific Hungarian-French photographer Brassaï. Brassaï: Secret Paris features over 150 original vintage prints from the shutterbug’s collection, including a snap of famed surrealist Salvador Dalí and early experimentations with street art. The collection is on display now at Heide until November 15th, so make sure to pop over to the museum if you’re in Melbourne.
