this designer turns mcdonald's bags into lamps

By

We don’t tend to associate Maccas with swish homewares, but there’s a first time for everything. Korean designer Gyuhan Lee took the fast-food giant’s brown paper bags and transformed them into these rad lamps, which emit a lovely soft glow when switched on. Ah, the burger-scented ambience. (Just kidding – Gyuhan only uses fresh bags to build these beauties.)

According to designboom, the clever designer noticed the boxy bags' potential while passing through Narita International Airport in Japan. Luckily, the staff at the airport McDonald’s were kind enough to gift him a stack of their paper bags, so he could bring his idea to life.
