the test tube chandelier
Chandeliers are by definition ornate and over-the-top, so we were rather surprised to set eyes on these pared-back versions. Rather than streams of crystal beads, Pani Jurek’s designs feature glass test tubes sitting in a simple plywood frame. The Poland-based maker drew inspiration from Art Deco forms, as well as the famous Marie Curie, creating a modern, customisable chandelier that can be filled with flowers, foliage and any other bits you please. Pani’s Etsy award-winning designs start from $340 – certainly not a steal, but pretty affordable compared to traditional chandeliers. Plus, what other light fittings can be filled with blooms?
