Ho, ho, ho, frankie friends – it’s time to get your gift-giving hat on! Lucky for you, the arty-crafty Christmas markets are rolling into town, and they’re stocked with heaps of rad pressies. Shopping at markets is not only a sweet way to score one-of-a-kind goodies, but gives local makers a much-needed boost, too. Brunswick creative studio and event space Small Matters is running a little shop featuring locally made and designed gifts. Pop over to their Instagram @shopsmallpopup to take a peek at their line-up (spoiler alert: nice homewares and small-batch food and drink products await).

You might miss saying hi to makers in the flesh, but you’ll still be able to nab special discounts and find a huge range of gifts from independent designers online.

Handmade Canberra has been running online markets all throughout November, and their final event for the year is happening this Saturday. Grab a cuppa and make yourself comfortable – there’ll be heaps of art, craft and design to take in. You can also preview the line-up over here.

Fitzroy’s famous Rose Street market has a truckload of events planned in the lead-up to Christmas, and they’re happening all around Melbourne. In an excellent northside-southside collab, they’ve even opened up a shop at Como House and are taking over the grounds of Rippon Lea estate for a day.
