Italian shutterbug Carmen Colombo takes a considerate approach to snapping her subjects and their surroundings. Her light, airy photographs capture the quietly beautiful moments in everyday life.
“I need to slow down to see more clearly and to think about what I see around me,” she tells Pellicola. “Often it’s just a matter of light: I like to observe an object while the daylight changes. I take the picture when I feel the light tells my story better.”
When photographing people, Carmen selects individuals who are already known to her, or who have something unique about them – whether it be a curious outfit or an interesting beauty spot.
