alexandra șipa transforms leftover electrical wires into stunning garms

Everybody loves to get all dressed up in some brand new and spiffy attire but – let’s face it – the fashion industry is not exactly doing our struggling planet any favours. Textile waste is running pretty rampant with no real signs of slowing down, which is what inspired UK-based designer Alexandra Șipa to experiment with unconventional materials such as non-functioning electrical wires into her art.

Resembling intricate lace, Alexandra painstakingly wraps and reconstructs the wires into beautiful patterns, dresses, jewellery, jackets and more, and it all looks so dang lovely that we wouldn’t even believe it wasn’t fabric without a closer look. If you want a better look at all of Alexandra’s recycled designs then make sure to visit her website over here.
