One person's trash is another person's treasure, or in this case, artistic masterpiece to pop proudly on the mantel.

One person's trash is another person's treasure, or in this case, artistic masterpiece to pop proudly on the mantel. About a year back we featured Sabine Timm's teeny tabletop faces in print, and we've kept an enthusiastic eye on her ever since then. Most recently we've become smitten by the Dusseldorf-based artist's trashy ikebana series, which mixes the Japanese art of flower arranging with manky old combs, crumbled Styrofoam and dirty plastic tubes in an oh-so sweet way that we never thought possible.

Her flickr is a veritable treasure trove of unexpected delight, so clear your schedule and spend your evening clicking on through.
