the colourful architecture of bolivia
Have a gander at El Alto’s housing projects that are so bright and colourful, they border on psychedelic.
There’s no denying it: a building that’s bright and colourful is a much happier locale than a structure that’s grey and drab. By this logic, the city of El Alto in Bolivia is one of (if not THE) happiest place on the planet. Since 2005, self-taught Bolivian architect Freddy Mamani Silvestre has realised over 60 of these housing projects that are so colourful they border on psychedelic – and German shutterbug Peter Granser has seen fit to capture some of the best. Take a peek at his photography series (now also a book) entitled El Alto right over here, then pop over this way to see more of Peter’s snaps.
