Nikon have gone and done something so wonderful, we’ve got half a mind to track them down with a thank you card and a firm handshake. It’s called Heartography – a 3D-printed camera cover that can be strapped around your pooch’s furry chest, taking photos of anything that sets their tails wagging with joy.

Here’s how it works: Inside the case is a heart rate monitor, which sets off the camera’s shutter button any time their ticker builds some speed. In other words, it’ll capture things that make a dog excited or grabs their attention, like other critters, canine behinds and pretty much any potential food source.

Right now it’s just a prototype, but we’re crossing every limb that the contraption will soon be available to buy. After all, who wouldn’t want to see the world from Rover’s eye view?
