old people in parks
Public space is a playground for Shanghai’s senior citizens.
What does ageing gracefully even mean? That you resign to a wardrobe of white shirts and knitted cardigans once you hit the big 6-0? Seems a little restrictive, don't you think? We reckon it'd be much more fun to spend our twilight years channeling the badass energy of Shanghai's senior citizens, as captured by photographer Ryan Harding. Just look at them nap, dance and bench press in public, perfectly unbothered and without a hint of worry that someone might circulate a photo of them snoozing in a tree. Then again, when you're jostling for space in a city of 26 million other people, what's the point in feeling shy, anyway?
