These creative snaps are inspired by self-organising systems in nature, like swarming locusts, schooling fish and flocking birds. Pretty cool, hey?

We’re a bit smitten with Thomas Jackson’s photography. In this series, Emergent Behaviour, he uses a variety of objects – straws, cups, Post-It Notes, hula hoops and balls – to mimic self-organising systems in nature, like termite mounds, swarming locusts, schooling fish and flocking birds. The images are intended to invoke fear and fascination. Scroll down to check them out.
