Elin Høyland ventured into a time capsule in rural Norway.

Oslo-based shutterbug Elin Høyland is the kind of photographer who prefers to earn her subject's trust before she starts snapping away. For her work Brother | Sister, Elin spent months shuttling back and forth from Oslo to rural Norway. Her assignment? To document an elderly gent named Edvard Bjelland – the only surviving member of his family to continue living on a hundreds-year-old farm that had been passed down through generations. Elin not only captured a remarkably pristine '70s-style home, she also ended up capturing the bond between Edvard and his late sister, along with a very special way of life.Elin Hoyland Brother Sister 4Elin Hoyland Brother Sister 5brother sister elin hoyland07brother sister elin hoyland2elin hoyland 3elin hoyland brother sister 11This story was originally published on June 13th, 2019.
