elin høyland's snaps of a norwegian farmhouse capture a very special story
Elin Høyland ventured into a time capsule in rural Norway.
Oslo-based shutterbug Elin Høyland is the kind of photographer who prefers to earn her subject's trust before she starts snapping away. For her work Brother | Sister, Elin spent months shuttling back and forth from Oslo to rural Norway. Her assignment? To document an elderly gent named Edvard Bjelland – the only surviving member of his family to continue living on a hundreds-year-old farm that had been passed down through generations. Elin not only captured a remarkably pristine '70s-style home, she also ended up capturing the bond between Edvard and his late sister, along with a very special way of life. This story was originally published on June 13th, 2019.
