For this young photographer, scarecrows are a lifetime obsession.
We can all agree that there’s something unnerving about scarecrows, right? Well, Chika Usui once got lost in a forest and stumbled across an entire village of the straw-filled lunatics. Instead of being traumatised for life, she decided to embark on a lifelong fascination and now takes photographs in a range of scenarios: at school, having tea, waiting for a bus… all surrounded by scarecrows. We admire her dedication to her craft and, look, everyone has their coping mechanisms.
