arty fireworks
Tsutsui Tokimasa makes fireworks so beautiful, it seems a shame to burn them.
Most kids are taught not to play with fire. In Japan, however, the Tsutsui Tokimasa fireworks factory specialises in creating things specifically for little ones to burn (from a safe distance, of course). The company has been making children’s fireworks for over 80 years, keeping the tradition of handheld sparklers alive. They’ll even teach you and your tyke how to make some minor explosives if you stop by the factory shop in Fukuoka prefecture. What we really dig about Tsutsui Tokimasa, though, is how much effort they put into their packaging. Just look at these sparklers – each is so beautiful, it'd feel a waste to set alight.
