this year’s nature festival has something for everyone

By

Adelaide friends, this one’s for you! This year’s Nature Festival is chock-full of fun stuff, with more than 200 events taking place across the city over 10 days. Most of the events are either free or super-cheap, and include talks, exhibitions, nature walks and workshops. For example, there’s a weird and wonderful exhibition dedicated to fungi, a mindfulness fair, a weaving class, a poetry slam and a focaccia art workshop. Sounds pretty cool, eh? If you’re in the mood to get a little sweaty (and don’t mind spending some dosh), there are also rock climbing sessions, kayak tours and hiking sessions.

The festival – as its name suggests – is all about coming together to celebrate the beauty of the natural world. “We are really excited about the number of events we have happening right in the centre of the city, as it’s a place where I suspect a lot of people don’t realise their daily connection to nature,” program curator Jill Woodlands says. “Nature is all around us and we’re so fortunate in Adelaide to have places like the parklands and the River Torrens in such close proximity to the CBD.” It all kicks off on September 25 and will run until October 4. If you're interested, have a gander at the huge program over here.
