this cereal is made of mini croissants
What’s a sure-fire way to upset a Frenchman? Serve him a bowl of this mini-croissant cereal. Petitchef is the mastermind (or offender, depending on your perspective) behind the quick, easy breakfast treat (or abomination).
Don’t be fooled by the name, though. These croissants are not like the buttery, flaky, heavenly rolls of pastry that you’d find behind the display cabinet at your local bakery – and not just because of their size. These croissants are made from sheets of puff pastry that have been sliced, rolled, dusted with icing sugar, cooled in the fridge and baked for 12 minutes. Does this fact make us feel a little bit icky? Oui. Will we still make mini-croissant cereal for breakfast tomorrow morning? Oui, oui! Head here for the how-to, or watch it below.
To accompany you while you embark on your next culinary quest, we’ve cooked up some lovely kitchen merch, including three colourful tea towels and a flower-power apron. The designs are pulled straight from the pages of the frankie 2022 diary, which is full of vintage kitchen-inspired artwork by Pilgrim Hodgson. Find the lot over at the frankie shop.
