these painted birds are created with lego bricks

There’s a lot to be enjoyed when you play with LEGO; you can build detailed creations from real-life and fiction, or create your very own fantasy worlds (even though we’re not exactly huge fans of stepping on them with no socks on) but seeing Dutch artist Roy Scholten create art with the multi-coloured mini bricks is definitely a first for us.

Inspired by the native birds hailing from The Netherlands, Roy uses letterpress printing to create the beaks, wings and tails of all the feathered creatures in north-western Europe. Roy features all his art in 50 Birds, which you can check out by visiting his website this-a-way.
