take a gander at singapore’s whackiest theme park

What do you think of when you think of the island country of Singapore? While top-notch hawker centres, the majestic Supertrees and the tapestry of colours across the heritage shophouses of Katong-Joo Chiat are all pretty ace, we’ve found a gem that might just beat them all. Enter, Haw Par Villa.

This eclectic theme park is Singapore’s largest outdoor art gallery, boasting over 1000 statues and 150 massive dioramas that tell stories of Chinese folklore. From anthropomorphic creatures sipping on cups of tea to the somewhat infamous Ten Courts of Hell, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ve never experienced a park quite as absurd as this before. If you’re as big a fan of the weird, whacky and wonderful as we are, make sure to pay Haw Par Villa a visit next time you’re in Singapore.
