taiwan’s curious elephant slides

By

These vintage elephant slippery dips are here to challenge the stereotype that all abandoned bits of playground paraphernalia are destined to be spooky. Hundreds of the quirky yet endearing structures are peppered across Taiwan's parks and playgrounds (and are no doubt bringing joy to whoever happens to come across them).

According to Colossal, many of the elephant slides are no longer in use due to safety regulations. But that doesn’t mean we can't admire the stony beasts. Shutterbug Pi Cheng Hsiu has an Instagram page dedicated to capturing the old elephants, which come in varying shapes, sizes and colours. Check it out to see more of the curious creatures out in the wild.
