Here at frankie, we often find ourselves gazing in wonder at the amazing stuff creative types come up with. Take these abstract embroidery hoops by Emily Botelho (aka Salt Stitches), for example.
Emily takes inspiration from the vibrant colours and intricate patterns found in natural textures from all over the world – like rugged rock formations and sweeping marine landscapes – before getting to work with her needle and thread. She recreates these textures using printed fabrics and threads of varying thickness and lustre, combined with other materials including beads and sea shells. The result is truly magical.
