HOW TO
Finished measurement = approx. 10cm across
You’ll be crocheting these in a continuous circle. Using a stitch marker on the last stitch (st) of each round will help you to see where the round ends and to keep your stitch count correct.
Using a 4.50mm crochet hook and MC, ch 2 and work 6 dc into the first ch. Join with a sl st to make a circle. (Alternatively, start by work 6dc into a magic circle.)
1st Round: Work 2 dc into each st to end. 12dc
2nd Round: 2 dc into first st, *1 dc into next st, 2 dc into next st, rep from * to last st, 1 dc into last st. 18dc
3rd Round: *1 dc into each of the first 2 sts, 2dc into next st, rep from * to end. 24dc
4th Round: 1 dc into first st, 2dc into next st, *1 dc into each of the next 3 sts, 2 dc into the next st, rep from * to last 2 sts, 1 dc into last 2 sts. 30dc
5th Round: 1 dc into first st, 2 dc into next st, *1 dc into each of the next 4 sts, 2 dc into next st, rep from * to last 3 sts, 1 dc into each of the last 3 sts. 36dc
6th Round: *1dc into each of the next 5 sts, 2dc into next st, rep from * to end of round. Join with a slip st to first dc. Fasten off. 42 dc
Coaster should now measure approx. 8.5cm across. Work another round of dc into each st of your coaster if it measures less than 8.5cm
7th Round: Change to CC and work 1 dc into each st to end of round. Join with a slip st to first dc. Fasten off. 42 dc
Sew in all ends. To finish, press lightly with a warm iron and a damp cloth (or use steam setting on iron without directly touching your coaster).
