If you enjoy shooting hoops down at the park, you'll know that basketball nets are hard to come by (at least in Australia). It feels satisfying, then, to see Ontario artist Mallory Tolcher draw attention to the fact that public nets are often torn, or missing all together, with her chandelier-like hoops. Using a mix of lace, leather and beads, Mallory explores the beauty of basketball by juxtaposing typically feminine materials with the sport's masculine energy.
