nicole mclaughlin combines fibre and ceramics to celebrate her roots
It’s not every day you come across two artistic mediums woven together so stunningly. Nicole McLaughlin is a Mexican-American artist who expertly combines ceramics with fibre, embroidery and weaving. Having spent much of her early years in her mum’s hometown of Cuernavaca, Mexico, Nicole is heavily influenced by her multicultural upbringing, and uses art to explore her connection to Mexican traditions and the women who raised her.
