Holding a lovely piece of pottery tends to have a calming effect on us, and for ceramicist Katie Bowman, it’s much the same. Katie first began experimenting with clay during a particularly crushing case of burnout. With a little help from her mum’s old pottery wheel, she steadily built up her skills and developed a style all of her own. Before she knew it, her earthy, geometric designs had captured attention from galleries and shops, and by the two-year mark, she’d quit her stressful copywriting job to pursue pottery full time. Now based on the Mornington Peninsula, Katie crafts sweet, limited-run mugs, plates, bowls and vases. If you find her creations as delightful as we do, pop by her shop and Instagram to see more.
