kendal murray gets introspective with miniatures

By

Kendal Murray is a Sydney-based artist who has a keen interest in capturing the physical representation of fantasies, memories, childhood and other psychological states of mind. She does this by creating miniature dioramas placed upon overgrown everyday objects such as compact mirrors and coin purses. Through wholesome scenes such as children playing or couples embracing, Kendal explores how human identity is formed through the surrounding environment.

She also mentions that her inspirations come from her own “dream states” and that her art “serves as a metaphor for intuitive thoughts”, so don’t be surprised if you dream yourself shrunken down and traversing within your own personal belongings when you fall asleep tonight.
