karen khachaturov’s snaps walk the line between pretty and weird

A scroll through Karen Khachaturov’s portfolio is like walking through a strange, surrealist country. There’s a lot of off-kilter stuff going on, but you can’t help but be drawn to the pretty pastels of his palette. That’s intentional, says Karen, who loves creating scenes that blur the line between utopia and dystopia. The characters in many of his snaps are half people – often dressed in hospital gown-like sacks – and half object; they’re beautiful but lifeless. Peep more of his photos over on his Instagram or Behance profile, and you’ll be feeling curiouser and curiouser about his weird, dream-like world.
