here’s how your nokia could have looked
If you were a teen in the 2000s, then you might have fond memories of receiving a Nokia as your very first mobile phone. How fun was playing 'Snake'? Or changing up your ring tone based on whichever bleepy ditty most appealed to you that day? Or begging your mate to send you 20 cents of credit so you could text your crush? Ah, they were simple times.
But it turns out our memories of the (then) life-changing device could have been a little different. The clever folks at Aalto University in Finland have published a digital archive of hundreds of Nokia designs, including unreleased prototypes that show just how the phones could have looked, and ads of the era.
Just imagine how cool you would’ve been if your phone had been a hot pink orb rather than a hot pink rectangle? Head over to Aalto University’s archive if you’d like to peruse the collection and dream about what could have been.
