golsa golchini’s cardboard swimmers

We could marvel at Golsa Golchini’s artworks all day. The Iranian artist has a way of drawing you in using the most unexpected methods – and she’s clearly not precious about the materials she uses, either. Known for her tiny painted figures (often swimming or skiing), Golsa creates magical scenes on everything from skateboards to books, plates and coins. In her Invisible Water series, done entirely on cardboard, characters look as if they're gliding effortlessly across the surface. Golsa's aim is to make us see everyday actions in a new light. Mission accomplished, we think.
