get a load of these frosty floral sculptures
Azuma Makoto is a Japanese artist who has a penchant for building larger-than-life floral arrangements in unusual spots (including underwater). But it’s these colossal flower sculptures in the boundless arctic that really tickle our fancy. These flowers remain vibrant and colourful even when they’re placed in the frozen wasteland of the wintery Japanese wilderness.
Azuma says that he chose this specific spot in Hokkaido (known as "the end of the world") because it "freezes over in winter" and helped him discover "the unknown possibilities of flowers". Pretty cool, eh? Take a gander at Azuma's website, or visit his Instagram page to see even more of his rad stuff.
