get a load of these fantastic fishy plates
Life under the sea is incredibly vivid and beautiful, and no one understands that better than Sydney-based and Spanish-born ceramicist Araceli Robledo Adams, who decorates her porcelain plates with some of the most colourful denizens of the deep blue sea. Operating under the name Casa Adams, the artist hand-paints a vivid collection of crustaceans, fish, squid and more in order to depict the vast and diverse biodiversity found in our underwater world.
Inspired by Australia’s own rich oceanic ecosystems, Araceli aims to recreate the “wonder and curiosity felt by naturalists during the Age of Discovery”, and hopes that her art elicits the same kind of wonder and helps to inspire more people to protect our oceans during this current climate crisis that has drastically affected natural habitats.
