feast your eyes on this restored 1930s danish public pool
Making a splash in your local body of chlorinated water only looks this grand when said body of water is found somewhere in Europe. Forget dog-paddling past peeled-off Band Aids and too-low ceilings suffocating the oxygen out of your body every time you break the surface mid-breaststroke, the Danes are doing right. Right, being restoring an almost 100-year-old civic aquatic centre into an arty dreamscape. Even the nudist swimmers flaunting their stuff in the vintage mosaics have a look of envy in their eyes, stuck up there on the wall! Admittedly, we do too. Peruse the story behind Cornelius Vöge’s divine restoration work on their website this-a-way.
