feast your eyes on this pasta-shaped furniture by caleb ferris
Oh, pasta, we love you so. While our preferred method of celebrating the Italian staple is to simply eat it, some talented folks are far more inventive. Take Brooklyn designer Caleb Ferris, for example. He crafted an entire collection of pasta-shaped furniture (named ‘Al Dente’), which includes a cavatappi coffee table, a lasagne side table, a ceramic ravioli bowl and a wooden lumache sculpture.
Inspired by the pasta aisle at the supermarket, Caleb referenced the production methods used to make real-life pasta when creating his carby collection. “Some pieces are made by human hands, some are made by machine, and some are a combination of the two,” he says. “Overall, this collection uses the charm of these mass-manufactured noodles to remind us to slow down and appreciate what already exists.”
Seems like a lot of thought and effort over a single type of food, but that’s amore! Pop over to Caleb’s website for more snaps of the swish range.
