Even if you have no idea what sunburst doors are, you have to admit they sound rad-as. An entrance that emits sunshine? A portal to heaven and happiness perhaps? Heck yeah! As this project from Studio DIY confirms, sunburst doors are pretty cool indeed – though they may not bring you to a higher place.
Often found in mid-century design (see: sunburst clocks and mirrors), the sunburst motif is instantly recognisable with its beams of ‘light’ that radiate outwards. Kelly from Studio DIY took inspo from retro LA homes and recreated the look for herself with the help of an embroidery hoop and wooden dowels.
