check out alexis arnold’s crystalised books

As lifelong bookworms, we’ve seen our fair share of stunning book covers and we’ve read some pretty stellar books, but we have to say that we’ve never quite seen the work of Alexis Arnold before. The California-based artist has taken her love for books to the next level with her crystallised creations, as she turns novels, field guides, maps and many more into gorgeous sculptures that represent how books represent time, history and memory.

From How to Kill a Mockingbird, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to a map of Californian highways, Alexis has been transforming these books since 2011, which was first inspired by “the fragility of printed media”. You can see all of Alexis’ work by visiting her website here, or check out her Instagram.
