cecilia abeid's illustrated thimbles
When Brazilian artist Cecilia Abeid began travelling the world, she got into the habit of collecting thimbles. Plucked from markets or gifted from people she met on her trips, each one represents a specific place and memory from her life. Documented in her zine The Humble Thimble, Cecilia’s treasures often cost only $4 or $5, though their sentimental value is much greater. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have any copies of the zine for sale at the moment, but you can flip through the whole collection/travelogue over on her site.
