Anyone who’s lived in a small apartment knows you have to get creative on laundry day. When the clothes horse is filled, you make do with balcony railings, shower curtain rods or get creative with dining chairs. In Italy, and other dense cities across the world, washing gets hung up on precarious lines outside apartment windows. Aside from being practical, it’s also rather charming to look at, as you can see from photographer Elisa Ristori’s snaps.
