a village of colourful domes

This certainly isn’t your average motel. If you can get yourself to the Iranian island of Hormuz (and save a decent stack of moolah, too), you can book yourself in for a stay at Presence of Hormuz, an impressive village of 200 dome-shaped buildings. Though it may look small from afar, the rainbow-hued structures feature high ceilings and accommodate a number of interconnected shops and restaurants. Sadly, Hormuz Island suffers from a number of economic issues, so it’s hoped that the architectural project will help draw tourists to the unique area. With its sci-fi design and seaside location, that goal certainly looks within reach.
