ellen giggenbach art

by maggie butter

Fusing the cultural influences of her Bavarian ancestry and her current home in Wellington, New Zealand, Ellen Giggenbach's hyper-coloured artworks are created by painting tiny pieces of paper and putting them all together. It's a bit like one of the most insanely organised collages that we could possibly imagine.

There is a lot of '60s German design influence at play here, and we like. Have a peep at her huge range of bits and bobs here.
