For this year’s frankie runway show at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, things went underground – quite literally. The crowds trooped down below the Melbourne Museum to a carpark decked out in its festival finery, plus a catwalk so lengthy it curved back on itself, giving the models an extra-long (and swish) pathway to tread. All the better to keep our peepers lingering on the brand new styles – from knee-skimming skirts to sculptural knits and bold, geometric patterns, there was plenty to brighten our wardrobes and have us counting down to winter.

Take a look to the left for some of our top-notch runway shots, which feature bul’s sleek sophistication, Limedrop’s ladylike loveliness, Obus’s kaleidoscopic colours, Kuwaii’s deep-hued delights, Ryder’s casual radness and I Love Mr Mittens’s larger-than-life sculptural knits. And a humungous back-pat to everyone who lent a hand! Images snapped by Lucas Dawson.
