Join us in marvelling at these rather stunning flower arrangements, frozen in time underwater.

When Dutch artist Anne Ten Donkelaar finds a butterfly with a broken wing, or a twig that’s broken off a tree, she takes it back to her studio where she ponders its individual story – and she wants to inspire other people to do the same. She’s got a rather special knack for looking at the world from a different perspective and giving objects a new lease on life – a skill that’s on full display in her latest work, Underwater Ballet. In this series of snaps, she’s artfully arranged flowers underwater and captured what she calls “a silent image of a spirited dance”. The result is work that’s as intriguing as it is beautiful.
