Every now and then we come across a tune that fills us with the urge to abandon whatever it is we’re doing, jump in our cars and set out on an old-fashioned road trip. Well, it just so happens that every track on Canadian indie-folk band Wild Rivers’ new album, Sidelines, gives us that spontaneous feeling.
It makes sense, since the record is all about the experiences of twenty-something-year-olds who are navigating their post-university years (i.e, that scary, exciting period of adulthood where you regularly feel like dropping everything and fleeing). Sidelines is the perfect mix of wistful, vulnerable and fun, and you can treat your ears to it below.
