tunesday – this or that with lambrini girls
Five minutes with the English punksters.
In-between knocking the wax out of punters’ eardrums at shows across the country, we were able to nab a few moments with Phoebe Lunny from the Brighton-based Lambrini Girls to chat. Alongside bandmate Selin Macieira, the duo’s explosive sound and political punk have sent mosh pits foaming at the mouth for their outright fearlessness. Their music demands to be listened to – now, we’re demanding them to answer our questions.
Touring or playing in your hometown? Touring unless it’s a free hometown show. It makes me feel bad to take money off people who have been there for us from the beginning.
Vinyl or digital? Digital is more environmentally friendly. But vinyl is more or less AI-free so choose your position.
Melody or lyrics? Lyrics.
City or country? City.
Clubs or pubs? Pubs.
Sweet or savoury? Savoury.
Writing music at morning or night? Night.
Noise or silence? Noise but also silence.
Feast your ears on the chaos of Lambrini Girls this-a-way and snag a ticket to see them live here. For more punkster mayhem, get a load of local band Dr Sure’s Unsure Practice.
