In anticipation of Spacey Jane’s third album – "If That Makes Sense" – bassist Peppa Lane sits down for a chinwag to help us fill in the blanks.
What doesn’t make sense to me is…How anyone reading this might not know about our album coming out! (It’s called If That Makes Sense.)
If I’m saying something through my teeth, it’s probably…Go stream our new song "Through My Teeth". Don’t worry, you don’t have to – but it is one of my faves on the album.
I always kill my houseplants by…Going on tour and leaving them for months at a time. Houseplants don’t like long distance relationships.
My favourite kind of noise is…Thousands of people clapping. It’s good for my ego. No, in all honesty – it is probably birds singing.
If I wasn’t in a band, I would be…Wishing I was in a band.
The weirdest thing that has happened during a live show is…Someone in the front row dressing me in a pickle costume mid-song. It sounds almost absurd as it was.
The song I wish we played more often live is…"D.O.R.O.T.H.Y. (My Favourite Dinosaur)" by The Wiggles. We recorded a cover of it a couple of years ago and Ashton did an amazing impression of a lawnmower that I would love to hear at every show.
I unwind after a gig by…Drinking 10 beers! There’s a reason they call me "Peppa the Party Animal"! (No one calls me that. I usually like some quiet time – maybe to sit and read a book).
On days off you can find me…Trying to find purpose.
The perfect fifth member of Spacey Jane would be…Mason Ramsey.
If That Makes Sense is set to hit ear drums all around the world on May 9th, although you can get a taste of some of the goodies that will be on the album below, including Spacey Jane's latest single "Through My Teeth".
