tunesday - secret mountains
Secret Mountains are a shoegazey band from Baltimore, Maryland who have pricked our ears of late. Perhaps pricked is too strong a verb though - how about caressed? Stroked? Lovingly patted? Happified? Now we're just making up words to attempt ensconcing the awesomeness that surrounds them.

Despite being reviewed by the likes of The New York Times they're still more or less unknown. Which is a pity, as their new record Rainer is out today, and it deserves all the glowing adrimation it can muster. Perhaps that's where the moniker Secret Mountains came from - a band full of such quiet, persevering force yet is still somewhere hidden in the overgrowth. But we hear them now. Peek-a-boo!
We've got a stream of their latest clip above - it's called "High Horse" and is full of both drifty hay fields and equally drifty tunes. Makes us want to yank off a stem, poke it in our mouths, sit back on the porch and get a'whittlin'.
