the tree church
If you’ve ever had an urge to slowly back out of society and into the wilderness to find some solitude, you’ll be rather impressed with this plant-covered structure from New Zealand fella Barry Cox.
If you’ve ever had an urge to slowly back out of society and into the wilderness to find some solitude, you’ll be rather impressed with this plant-covered structure from New Zealand fella Barry Cox.
Called the Tree Church, it blends in almost seamlessly with the greenery sitting around it on the three-acre Ohaupo property, taking building camouflage to a level we’ve never clapped eyes on before.
Originally Barry came up with the concept as a way to retreat from the craziness of daily life and soak in some all-natural serenity. But a structure that glorious didn’t stay secret for long, and these days it’s open for special events, plus a weekend wander through its shady, flora-covered interior.
