Today, in things you never knew you always wanted: The Piip-Show. Full of seed, but not in the way it sounds like, it's a reality show of the feathery kind, following a cast of wild birds as they eat, drink and be merry in a specially constructed bird feeder (which happens to be modelled on one of Oslo's finest cafes, if you don't mind).

Featuring cameos by the local neighbourhood squirrel, the whole critter-filled affair was thought up by freelance photographer Magne Klann; and believe it or not, was screened live on a Norwegian broadcasting network for three glorious months. Though it's sadly no longer on air, you can watch some of the highlight reels over here.

Want to know more about the fun-loving characters? In the maker's own words: "Different personalities meet inside the bar. Among others a short-tempered nuthatch, a blue tit with the memory of a gold fish, a happy-go-lucky great tit, and a depressed bullfinch. Like in any other bar there is bickering, petty theft, fighting and attempts at romance." Riveting stuff.
