The Handmade Dress Swap is back for its second year.

Did you ever have a pen pal? Someone to exchange thoughts, frustrations and crafty endeavours with, all through the channel of trusty snail mail? It’s rather lovely sending things off by post, then waiting anxiously by the mailbox to see what you get in return. And such is the thought behind the Handmade Dress Swap, which is back in 2016 for its second year.

Here’s the gist: you stitch together a frock of your choosing, then pop it in the mail to another nimble-fingered sort. They, in turn, will whip up a dress just for you, and there you have it: a pair of one-off, limited edition, never-to-be-repeated outfits.

If last year’s event is anything to go by, there’ll be some impressive dresses jetting all over the world (including some extra-special frocks made with a bit of Nanna’s help). The Handmade Dress Swap blog should give you all the information you need, but get in quick – sign up is only open until April 10th.
