the design kids nz hitchhike challenge
Frankie Ratford and Yve Johnson have set out on a hitchhiking mission, and they've launched an international design competition to go along with it.
The Design Kids do a darn good job of helping young Aussie designers break into the industry: through their weekly TDK Tuesdays meet-ups, cross-country design roadtrips and, of course, their website, which is chockas with interesting interviews and job opportunities. Most recently, head design ladies Frankie Ratford and Yve Johnson have set out on a hitchhiking mission across New Zealand, and they've handily launched an international design competition to go along with it.
Entering the comp is as easy as picking one of their upcoming destinations, crafting some killer typography to illustrate the name, and sharing it on Instagram. The best entries will be printed off by the pair and displayed roadside as they make their merry journey – then when the trip wraps up, they'll all be rounded up for an exhibition in Auckland on Thursday April 2nd.
If you're keen to dabble in a little hand-drawn type, keep an eye on TDK's Instagram for all of the details.
