the bell jar cafe
Everyone loves a literary reference. If they were still around, we reckon that the likes of Rimbaud and Sartre may have frequented The Bell Jar.
Everyone loves a literary reference. If they were still around, we reckon that the likes of Rimbaud and Sartre may have frequented The Bell Jar. It's a beautiful setting to get caffeinated: white washed walls, industrial fittings, jars brandishing wild flowers and a massive communal table handcrafted by the cafe's owner using solely recycled and reclaimed materials. Although their coffee is known everywhere within a bike ride's radius, their food is pretty yum too. Try their famous ricotta hotcakes with apricot compote, orange blossom syrup and mascarpone with toasted hazelnuts - it'll tantalise the most stubborn of palettes. Pop by with an empty stomach to 656 Smith Street, Clifton Hill if you fancy a sip and nibble.
